WaitAuthPlayerLoginState Error- cannot login on any servers

I see old threads on this topic but nothing new. I am having this problem now but looking at the old threads there does not seem to be any conclusion on how to fix it. Has anyone any idea on what to do?

I found that when this happens, I opened steam client up and I see no connection in the bottom where the downloads show when updating steam games.  After i relaunch steam and login that problems goes away.
