Probably this suggestion has been made from other players but a craftable bow it's a very realistic craft

It has a range of 25 meters

It can be crafted wit a long stick, a string 

The arrows are already craftable items in the game

it will do the same damage of a crossbow in between the range of 5-10 meters, if the range is more than 10 meters the bow Will do 70% damage of a normal crossbow, and if it is more than 25 meters it will do 40% of damage
