Constant desync on official servers

Recently bought Dayz Standalone on PS4, I used to play on pc a couple years ago and wanted to try out the game again.

It was certainly playable yesterday and I had a great nostalgia trip and was hoping to carry that on today before I'm back at work tomorrow. Booted up the game this morning and played for about an hour before noticing the desync icon appear. I carried on playing hoping it would disappear/ sort itself out but ended up nearly dying due to not knowing a zombie had been hitting me until I suddenly synced back up with the server with my health meter empty.

After healthing up I changed server as I assumed the issue was server side (my internet is roughly about 40mbps down) but every server I tried had the same problem. I tried for hours to trouble shoot the problem, try new servers and research the problem further but I can't find anything and thought I'd put a post here before I give up.

Does anyone have experience with this, and does anyone know any fixes? Just spend £45 on this game and going to be super disappointed if it turns out not to be playable for whatever reason. Cheers!
