n0tyx3s 5 Posted July 6, 2012 Now I understand the need to switch servers and such to find gear and all that but server hopping in the same spot is pretty lame IMO. If thats your poragative (probably mispelled) then so be it, but don't come back in here and and post some lame ass story about you logging into NWA right outside the barracks and putting a round in some poor souls face. It's not skillful and doesn't make you a badass. Chances are, that guy probably scoped out the area before heading inside to loot. He did the right thing and made sure the coast was clear. It's just bad luck that someone happened to spawn outside at the same time he/she was looting. Any one else think differently or have a different side of the story, feel free to reply. Torothin 2 Posted July 6, 2012 Finding gear is far worse than server hopping to find kills. You are a hypocrite.
Broseephus 0 Posted July 6, 2012 I have a certain spot at NW Airfield that I camp on low pop servers and wait for the hoppers to just come pouring in ;) . You never wait more than 10 minutes or so before you get some action.
D4saken1 80 Posted July 6, 2012 I popped some guy in the barracks that was farming at the NW Airfield just watching the door. Just looked in the window and blam then he quit im sure he was not happy.
n0tyx3s 5 Posted July 6, 2012 Finding gear is far worse than server hopping to find kills. You are a hypocrite. You took what I said out of context. I wasn't saying that hopping around from server to server to loot the NWA, Stary Sober ect. ect. was ok in my book either. What I was saying is that going to a different server to find loot if there was none to be had at all the good spots mentioned above isn't technically server hopping. There are times when a server needs to be reset because loot and stuff is far and few between, due to horders or massive traffic on that server. I should have clarified a bit more. Shuriken (DayZ) 1 Posted July 6, 2012 i totally agree with thisits pretty annoying when you walk for a couple of hours from spawn to get to NW airfield and find your first gun of that life just to walk 3 feet before getting shot in the back
ichor 0 Posted July 7, 2012 Server hopping is very lame. The only reason I see to switch servers is if the one you are usually on goes down. Everyone has their own style of play, and mine is to avoid meta-gaming, such as alt-f4 when you have zombie aggro, or were fired upon. I don't even like the idea of clearing loot piles so it respawns. Sometimes I do this to be nice to the next person who happens by. I for one, find it irritating to limp my way into a good loot spot, only to find a single tin can holding the place of military grade equipment.
burnviktm 2 Posted July 7, 2012 I am not saying that this applies to the OP, but anyone who arbitrarily kills other players and then claims the moral high ground with respect to server hopping is very delusional.
xtm059 1 Posted July 7, 2012 I tend to hop around on a few servers to find one that is 1. daytime, and 2. fps-worthy
