Global Chat but no option???

So I've played arma 2 before but this is kinda off for me.

Sometimes in servers i will see something like [bLUFOR] XXXXXXXX: ANYONE IN CHERNO!?

how is this possible when I go through my chat channels and only see.

Which BETA version is the client/server running?

There was an issue where people could use the channels even though they were disabled. (Briefing screen workaround), which was fixed in recent BETA patches.
