Surviving is to easy

Water and especially food are much to easy to get.

Currently its much more about getting fancy weapons and equipment than actual surviving.

- drastically reduce the nr. of animals.

- Foot and drinks should be only available in current quantities in the coastal cities and much rarer in land.

- most water sources should be contaminated and require some sort of substance to clean it before drinking

- to make up for lack of food, cannibalism should be possible

I agree with this.

Though I think the only water source you should need to "clean" or boil should be water you get from a pond thats just been sitting there. Drinking taht stuff irl is bad news bears for you.

Bandits are prevalent enough without players also being a source of food in a famine environment.
