Storage question

Hey guys, i am pretty new and have a couple questions.

I have heard you can store items and come back to them later, but I cant find any guides to how this works, since people don't want their stuff stolen :D

Are your items going to be where you left them only on the server you stored them on?

Where can you store items? Or do you just throw them on the ground somewhere.

Are your items eventually going to disappear if you dont login?

Unrelated question, I spawned and walked in a straight line from the coast, came across a village and logged out by a ruined church building. I have no map and am trying to find a friend, are there multiple church buildings? Also on the map of the game, is there a church icon or a legend for the icons anywhere?

You can store items inside tents / vehicles. These are both server bound. People can find these tents / vehicles whilst you're offline and loot them.

Also, yes there are multiple churches and there are church icons on several of the maps.

When you drop an item it has a chance to despawn, and is despawned when the server restarts.

You can store items in Choppers/Tents/Vehicles, these vehicles can be saved along with tents. However with tents you have 2 - 3 days left if you die to go back to the tent.

If you have a map in-game then you can see the legends/churches on the map but there is more than one church in the game so good luck. :V

You can find a tent (takes 3 spaces in your backpack) that you can set up and store items in. Tents only save on the server you set them up on but they remain there even after server restarts.

Thanks guys this was a great help, I thought the items would be persistent on every server liek your character. Is the church icon like a little circle with a cross?

it sounds like your are just east of Vyshnoye and west of Staroye. If I were you I would get away from that church area since there will be alot of zombies and not a safe spot to run to to kill the zombies.

Tents/vehicles are not persistent across servers and were previously wiped upon server reset but can now be 'saved' ensuring they will spawn in the location they are saved at last if a server is reset.

Yes churches appear on the map as crossed circles.

Thanks! Another unrelated question that I was unable to find through search.

So i have an empty water bottle, and I found a pond that I wanted to fill it with. I stood knee deep in it and used the scroll but I didnt have any action to fill it. Are some ponds bugged in this manner? I havent tried the ocean or a pump yet.

Lakes are kinda bugged now, you have to go deep enough until you begin to swim to refill the bottles. Be careful though, you can lose your backpack if you stay too long in the water. I suggest using the ocean/water wells instead, they work flawlessly.

To clarify, you can still lose your backpack contents in oceans.

A question... Are there wells in EVERY town, or are they pretty rare?
