I can't find any weapons!!

God I'm anxious in this game. I've been running around for nearly 3 hours dodging psychotic players that shoot on sight and zombies that spawn in your face... My only defence so far has been running into the ocean and out swimming them. I can't get into towns due to the overwhelming number of zeds and snipers.. :(

it's raining, I'm wet, tired, thirsty and hungry.. can't even take my own life lol

go find barns, they almost always spawn a shotgun, lee, or a sniper rifle/crossbow and there not swarmed by players/zombies. same thing with deer huts.

if u really want a weapon tho from the city or want something from the store id say go to a low populated night server with chemlights. the ppl that are on those servers (all 5-9 of them) usually dont bother camping the cities and instead camp the airfied and other northern popular areas. farming the cherno aparments with a chem light at night is best. once u have what u need u can change servers to a daytime server.

you should still proceed with caution tho since its not guranteed that no one will be in the town with u doing the same thing.

looks like u got problems with zeds ... croching + shift (=slow) will help

dont bother to die at beginning, just try out how the zeds react and find the limits ;)

I would advise you to double-tap shift so that you walk normally and jog when holding shift. This way you don't accidentally start jogging in front of a zombie.

once you work out which buildings yield loot you'll be doing loads better. But buildings means zombies will spawn. Running around will turn you into a Zombie Electromagnet so you need to crouch and walk slowly, pay attention to the noise and sight meters. Once you figure out the zombie AI you can pretty much navigate your way through a swarm without too much hassle.

Thanks all for the comments and tips. I've put in the hours now so can kinda say I have the hiding mechanics down. I just think I'm unlucky. I'm geared up now, but am about to die from Thirst.. sigh. have loads of ammo, equipment, food, no soda, water or anything..

Shoot zombies, and check their bodies even if they don't have an instant pick up option. They carry food and soda.

f**k it. Spent 4.5 hours of dodging zombies without a weapon. got a weapon, and then almost die from thirst. Manage to crawl my way into a town, found a tent, a new bag, a colt 1911, compass, watch, food and finally water. Set off to leave the town. Shot dead seconds later by some guttless f**king a***hole. Ruined my experience. I'm so sick of the players that are in this just to shoot other players, even when they have nothing of worth, or if they've just spawned.

I get the permadeath and the trust issue, but when you see someone crawling away from you, you're in no danger so killing them is only because you want to. There really should be a negative side affect to killing people over and over.

if it makes u feel better, there is a 100% chance that the guy who shot u was also killed by someone else later. you dont live for long in this game. there will always be something or someone that kills u. hell i died by falling off the fucking barn steps while being fully geared one time. it gets retarded, but u have to get use to it.

the best thing to do to NOT get frustrated is to just keep common/easy to get weapons instead of trying to find "better" stuff. a lee enfield/sniper riffle and a M1911/revolver will be more than enough to keep u content and there stupidly easy to find once u know where they are. the military stuff is harder because they are camped and farmed by clans/teams/groups (an aspect of this game that i hate. this game should not have a farming/camping aspect to it)

OP: Starting off, just run your legs off trying to find a weapon. I don't really care if I have a 10+ zombie train, I just keep running into barns and other houses with multiple entry points until I find a weapon.

Spawned outside of Balota airport and managed to get kitted with an M4, 7 mags and a revolver within the first 20 minutes of playing. Just don't be afraid of dying when you spawn, since you do not really have anything to lose at that point.

Bingo! I got a mp5 and G17, also found a ak-74 in the deer stands there.
