The fact is, you make the choice to use an online map. The whole point of this game is immersion. If you choose to use an online map then that's your choice and you will lose any immersion that comes when playing without it.

I prefer not having a map when spawning, it adds to that confusion and disorientation Rocket is trying to achieve.

You start finding landmarks that are more reliable than guessing town names.

I could see upping the spawn-rate of maps, just because printing is so cheap in today's world, so it's not unheard of to have country maps be stupid common. But spawning with a map would be assuming that everyone would have a map, which isn't the case.

Too easy. Starting conditions are fine as they are. If you have trouble, just get a map online and run on the tree line following roads.
