Is loot spawning based on server population?

Recommended Posts

The topic says it all really: is loot spawning based on server population?

Has this type of variable perhaps been added recently. Do not get me wrong, I would support such a feature (i.e. good loot spawning less frequently on lower populated servers), because it is a good way to prevent people to simply hop on servers with few people and raiding the hot spots.

I simply wonder because as server pop decreased when me and some friends were playing last night, the amount of empty cans just seemed to rise to ridiculous numbers. Maybe it was just a coincidence?

People pick up everything else leaving just empty cans, eventually there will be cans everywhere. I don't think that they actually despawn. Just get rid of them and wait 5-10 minutes ~150m away and new loot will have spawned.

The same thing happens in the barracks, every 2 minutes some server hopper will take anything worth picking up leaving just the crap. If you want the good stuff just clean out the loot spawns.

Me and my friend were also on a low populated server yesterday and had the absolute worst luck with loot.

so join severs with less then 10 people on it durning the night hours. It's how I load up on all i need, hit the grocery stores first, and reap the rewards

I also agree with this question, I have tried to play on some low populated servers to try and avoid being killed so I get get myself suited up after a respawn (but I always seem to find one or two of the 6 people online and get killed) but there is less loot to what I've noticed

Also another question I have been pondering. Is the loot less at night as well, because I have the same problem then aswell.

For the most part it's just bad luck. I am pretty sure that the zombie spawns are tied to the loot spawns as I have been on glitched servers where no loot *or* zombies spawn. Usually if you don't have zombies you don't have loot.

I think as you approach a loot node it will "pop" in. You can see this yourself. Log out in a building, go to a different server and *if* no other players are around you should see no loot. If you do see loot you know a player has been there.

Once you leave where you spawned in and come back the loot will be there.

If it's all cans that's on you.

Thursday night I logged into a sever of 5 people, at night, and looted the area of Elecktro grocery store, I got a Lee Enfield, a AKM 4 clips for both, an axe, matches, hunting knife, map, binoculars, toolkit, a revolver and 2 clips, for roughly 20 cans of coke, 3 of pepsi, 3 different food (sardines, hotdogs, and beans), The ctech(the longass one) backpack as well (first item I found)

I went through at least 15 servers raiding one of the barracks at the NWAF trying to get a sniper rifle. I gave up, walked into the hangar and was about to disconnect for the night because it was pitch-black and zombies were chasing me. But instead I decided against that and killed the zombies instead went to check the loot and M24.

I say it's all luck.
