noob here - advice on which version to buy?

Recommended Posts

Right after coming across DAYZ just to today on youtube i n eed to try it!

Just wondering if im ok buying this version of arma2 co (its only £14.99)

https://store.bistudio.com/arma2-combined-operations/

Just unsure of which is the best to buy as a lot of people say they use steam but thats £10 more!

Any benefits of using steam? do i need to run steam to play dayz? is it best?

oh and can 3 or 4 us run the game online together at the same address (ip issues?) obviousley we will each buy the game seperate.

thanks

daz

If you check the site im sure the one direct from BIS just gives you a cd key which you put into steam...thats what i did.

Im actually not running the game through steam though & just use the six launcher as its less of a ball ache to get it working & find servers. As i dont launch from steam i dont get the overlay but there are ways around this if you want to fiddle with the settings...theres a guide around here somewhere.

Doesn't matter, both are fairly easy to install. I've had friends that had trouble installing the beta patch and all that on Steam, so yeah.

There are two different versions available from the bistore at the same price. Steam version and non-steam version. Either works, but if you buy the Steam version you will need to download the Steam client and activate it on your Steam account.

Above are the two versions. It's entirely up to you which you prefer.
