Clothes Drying Near Fire/ Open Fire/ House Oven.

Hello, Just wondering if anyone had posted that wet clothes are no longer drying when taken off and left near a open fire source be it a campfire or a house oven. They remain in the same state of dampness without drying regardless of how long they are left near the fire.
