Knocking people unconscious without killing them.

Recommended Posts

I think the game is missing a 'middle ground' between letting a player live (move/aim/shoot) or killing them.

The ability to 'k.o.' would add a nice layer. It would render a threatening situation into one that is manageable. Any player who doesn't move and doesn't aim at me is my best friend.

There are several ways to implement. I'll mention a few options.

* Bare hands

Simply get close, scroll, select 'knock out' and you proceed to hit them on the jaw.

* Blunt weapon

Removing the scroll option for swift action as the only function of a blunt weapon would be to knock players out.

* Taser

Giving you that little bit of range.

* Rubber bullets

Turning your gun into a knock out machine.

You should only be able to loot from the backpack when players are unconscious to keep a contrast between killing and knocking out.

Thoughts?

If I knock someone out, I want the ability to loot ANYTHING from them. If I could ONLY loot stuff from their backpack, there is great incentive to just kill them to get access to all their gear.

This concept of knocking people out is good.
