My friends and I had been sharing our DayZ adventures through the lens of my twitch streams on SeriesX.
Is there a privacy setting for DayZ, Xbox or twitch that will prevent random players from simply selecting my gamertag and hit join game?
I made a point of NEVER sharing server information, we’re playing on a small community server.
But because they copied my name from my twitch channel, they were able to look me up on Xbox, select join game — and bam, just like that they didn’t need the server information. They then joined our game, knowing our base location, codes and everything by watching my stream.
I had a gut feeling something was up when my stream viewers spiked higher than average. So, I looked at players on server, not while streaming, and matched a gamertag that viewed my stream AND was on the server.
I thought I had some Xbox privacy settings active to prevent random players from doing just that, but I don’t recall how to set that up?
