How to change the path to settings files. *solved*

Recommended Posts

I have the native Microsoft synchronization of the Documents folder with One Drive enabled. Other games and programs had no problems with this, but for some reason DayZ refuses to save its settings in the cloud folder, and every time I start the game, my graphics, keyboard layout, etc. are reset. This is exactly the point, because I tried to turn off the synchronization and everything started to work fine. But I will not turn off such a convenient synchronization for the sake of one game.

And here's the question: Is it possible somehow, for example, through the launch options, to force the game to save the settings elsewhere?
DayZ is a pretty flexible game where you can customize almost everything, so I'm pretty sure there is a way. I would be very grateful if you could help me find it.

P.S. Yes, I tried removing the "read-only" attribute from the settings folder - it does not help.

I'm having the same exact problem! Settings and character don't get saved, and the game doesn't even bother to create a DayZ folder in documents

I was given several solutions in the Steam community.

Essentially, they do the same thing, but in different ways. The simplest one (about the parameter in the launcher) I highlighted there. It solved my problem.
