Spawn rate of zombies?

Just out of curiousity, just started the game, gathered up a bunch of weapons, and finally got found by my first zombie, killed him, then a few more came, killed them for 9 total. Then upon leaving one was waiting for me just outside, killed him ran back inside, ending up killing 50 or so until I finally got overwhelmed.

My question is, if you're defending yourself with firearms, do they just keep spawning until you run away or something? (Got my legs broken somewhat early so I couldn't.) If that is the case, should you just never shoot a zombie unless you're in the wilderness and no other zombies are near?

well if you create alot of noise alot of Agro or Zombies more than one or two should come up, if you want to avoid it then i suggest you move quietly

I understand that, but there was a zombie inside a building that was hiding around a corner, once I killed him a continual stream of zombies started. Thank you for your input, but it didn't really answer the question I posed.

If you aggro Zombies inside of town it is probably smartest to run away. If running away is not an option; you could try and kill em with a silent weapon.

Any silenced gun, hatchet, crowbar...this will not attract more of em.

They do respawn. and if you are shooting them inside town there are probably enough of them in hearing range so they will just keep coming. Not related to respawn due to firearm, just a huge aggro range. But yes they also respawn, but this is not related to the weapon you are using.

Yea, it's kinda annyoing when u sit in a house killing more and more zeds... never stops. I think they respawn too fast.

Wholeheartedly agree.

I don't mind there being a lot of zombies, but it's quite annoying when you think you've cleared out a place, and suddenly more just pop in.

Would be nice if there would be something like a 15 minute respawn timer on them, or something.

Clearing a town out with a scoped weapon, while your mates move in for the loot, is kind o a mute point when they will just respawn a minute after you shot them.

Also, if my mate is on the south end of town, and I fire a DMR at the west end, why does the infected sometimes run for my mate, who didn't even fire his weapon?

I find it annoying that each time I log in, a minute or so in, 3-5 zeds spawn in spitting distance around me and I have no choice but to shoot my way out.
