I've never seen a sniper rifle.

I've been playing the dayz mod for about a month now, and I've seen almost every loot there is, minus super rare nvg and gps. I've seen rocket launchers in the NW airfield, ghillie suits, FN FALs, and all that good stuff. But I've yet to see a sniper rifle. Even a CZ550. Never seen one. What's going on? Am I just insanely unlucky or are snipers super duper rare?

You are just unlucky, CZ 550 are quite common in barns and stables, maybe you are looking places that are being looted frequently.

Well I usually hang out around Berezino which I think is pretty low traffic. I don't know how this is happening. I got 2 mountain dew in the same apartment building once, and if someone told me there are no snipers in this game and all I had to go on was experience, I'd believe them.

Ah, that was a typo. I meant the NW airfield. I've never bothered going to the NE airfield.

Depending on the server Berezino is well visited and scavenged as well. Anyway - best places to find a CZ still are in a barn. In the South-West part of the city there are 3 farm buildings, go check them out regularly if you hang around in Berezino.

Yeah, I'm familiar with all the loot areas and stats. I was just wondering if this is something other players have noticed or if I've just been incredibly unlucky. It seems like it must be bad luck and I'll just have to keep scavenging. It's just frustrating when I have a ghillie suit and no sniper. Oh well.

there are to many sniper rifles. Found a M107 in stary (military tents), the brititish .50 cal sniper rifle at a helo crashside and a CZ550 on a dead bandit :-D

I had two AS50s that I found within 2 hours of each other on me once.

One of the first guns I ever found was a sniper rifle. Found it in a barn was so excited to find a gun but it had no ammo. Since I was still very new, I died :(

I found two M107s in the same day, one from a heli crash, another in a Ural at its spawn location. I died from a glitch soon afterwards, and now I'm running around in the woods with an MP5...

CZ's aren't exactly that amazing anyways, you have to be pretty close (For a sniper rifle) to actually be able to kill something.

I've found a CZ550 one time in the three weeks I've been playing, and in that amount of time I've amassed a whopping 4 clips for it. Not sure why so many people think they're common, the spawn chance is less than 1% even in barns.
