Hello DayZ team. I have played Dayz for a while and realized that it is too hard to start over when you die. you have so much on your hands in little time and have no way of escaping anything. Bandits or other survivors have many weapons and the people that spawned have no mean of defense. Can you add that you can punch to confuse the opponent or zombies? It is difficult to get any supplies when u see a person with a Lee Enfield running at you with his buddies with Ak's. Also can you add atleast one can of food or one water bottle? If this while lower the surviving experience then when you create a character can you make options for if the newcomers play they get a makarov with 1 mag and some food, and the experienced players will choose to have no food and painkillers and a bandage? If the option will not work can you base it off kills of survivors or zombies or deaths?

It is really not that difficult. Learn how to lose infected in buildings and hills and everything becomes so much easier.

As a new player myself i don't think it is too hard to start. It is hard.. but then it should be, otherwise you wouldn't care about dieing and loosing your loot.

I'm new to Day Z as well, been playing about a week now, and to be honest I like the way we start now. No gun and only a bandage and flashlight makes the game feel incredibly tense. I love the feeling of relief I get whenever I find a weapon or some desperately needed supplies.

Whenever I go foraging for stuff in cities I'm tense and hyper alert not just for zombies but for other survivors that may or may not decide they want my gear. I play for this feeling.

The only thing I wish I had at the start is the ability to hit a zombie with my flashlight, even if it took 8 hits to kill one. Either that or being able to punch or something similar. But even if this was never added it wouldn't be a big deal because once you find one of the hundreds of hatchets in the map your fine.

Anyway, my first post on the forums!

Its much better starting without a weapon, you will find one in no time anyway.

Use a Hatchet, kill quietly and find loot to build up your character.

@Phillipka

L2P. There are several tools and tactics that will help you survive

1) Get away from the coastal fragfest

2) Either rush through a city or go inland

3) Use tin cans, empty bottles to distract infected

4) Loose zombies by dodging in and out of buildings

5) Get a hatchet/crowbar to silently clear infected that are blockings access to a loot spot
