Microphone, In-Game, Stopped Working

I purchased my new Gaming machine in February and everything was working great.  Something with my microphone happened between June 28 and July 1 as the last time my mic worked (in game) was on June 28th.  I had no issue prior to this date and then all of a sudden it stopped working.  My mic works on every other application and game I play.  I've tried all the basic tests and troubleshooting steps out there on the web but nothing seems to fix.  I've tried the following:

  • Uninstalling / Reinstalling DayZ
  • Updating drivers
  • Validating DayZ Files through Steam
  • Default Microphone and Sound Setting checks
  • Disabled Virus Protection & Firewall
  • and more

Anyone who plays DayZ can certainly understand that no mic means instant death.  I came from Xbox, which I was used to this type of game play.  I switched to PC as it was a better gaming and community experience as whole.  In fact, the first week of playing on PC I had more interactions that lasted more than 30 seconds than I ever did on Xbox for 3 years.  I was really enjoying the game, until now.

I hope someone has found a fix to this issue.
