OniKem 4 Posted August 3, 2022 So I have been thinking about this for a while, but I think the ability to upgrade clothing could be a cool addition to the game. Nobody wears half of the clothing in game as it has bad insulation and basically no inventory slots. What I propose is the ability to upgrade clothing so for example the T-Shirt has 4x3 (12 Slots) and Bad insulation. I propose that using a sewing kit players can upgrade clothing to increase its slots and insulation level. This would obviously need balancing and you shouldn't be able to upgrade them more then one time so you couldn't take a t-shirt to best insulation and 64 slots. but you could allow to upgrade them 1 level higher. so Bad > Low. For Example. T-Shirt has 4x3 (12 Slots) and Bad insulation Custom T-Shirt (T-Shirt + Sewing kit) has 5x4 (20 Slots) and Low Insulation This would give freshies a way to minimally improve their gear and keep other clothing more relevant through the mid/end tiers. It would also help with role playing so If you wanted to run around in a nurses uniform its less of a sacrifice in regards to inventory space.
DefectiveWater 536 Posted August 3, 2022 I really like the idea, but I would firstly suggest we nerf clothing slots (or rework them to have separate compartments for each pocket). T-shirt IRL has no pockets, so why does it have any slots in the game?
OniKem 4 Posted August 3, 2022 Thanks, I think for a development perspective this would be easier then reworking the entire inventory structure. you could nerf some of the most high capacity gear so that when upgraded it is back to its full state.
