Shooting flags

Can anyone tell me if you can destroy a flag while raised? I suspect there is someone trying to despawn my base by continually shooting my flag. My base is completely sealed and nothing is taken. And I never let my flag lower too far. I am yet to try shooting some eleses flag pole only because its a d*ck move. Or maybe it's a glitch? Idk.

Yeah, it only takes a few shots to ruin a flag. Just tested it in game now. I assume it will despawn after that, I didn't wait around to see.

It makes sense ofc but I still feel it shouldn't be that way ingame. Maybe visual bullet holes would be a better solution instead it making it despawn with a few shots.
