DayZ - ACE (No CoD Kiddie Comments)

DayZ ACE would fix so many problems that the game currently deals with.

#1: You can't run forever due to the stamina. (more realistic)

#2: The more you have on you, the less you can run without taking a break.

#3: Realistic bandaging system and you can carry people.

#4: You can knockdown people, retrain them, and kidnap then. (Adds a new realistic gameplay)

#5: You can place anti-personal mines plus other stuff to set traps.

#6: Etc.

All of the experienced Arma fans would enjoy playing this but the people not used to it, would have to give it a try. My number one concern is that people won't like it because you can't run forever anymore which really isn't realistic in the first place.

You mean the number one concern are the zombies that can sprint faster with unlimited stamina as well.

Supposedly it would remove the unlimited stamina from zombies I would assume, the problem is they still run amazingly fast.

When zombies sprinting is fixed, perhaps it could fit in eh?

I totally agree with you all the way. ACE in its whole is just an amazing ArmA 2 Mod and if indeed added to Dayz it would create an enviorment even more deadly than the one now.

Adding ACE would allow for the zombie sprint speed to be lowered too since you can't outrun them forever. The carry and drag animations are already part for the original game and would be nice.

What would the function be of carrying a person ? Being able to run with him on your back for 100 m to carry your buddy with a broken leg into a building ? because it would be pretty useless as your speed on foot carrying him would be lower than his speed crawling, he'd be better off crawling.

Well the only way you can get a carry option in ArmA's orignal format would to also add in the Give First Aid option. But in ACE it allows if you only have first aid supplies to heal him but at the same time you can carry him.

No we are not butthurt. The CoD trolls are the people who raid games and act like its a shoot em up server. every single one. They are nothing but trolls. As i made my post I laughed. I was thinking that one would say, No ACE is too hard. It would ruin my kill streaks and I can run forever no more. Wtf?! This game sucks. Blah blah blah.

Making a game harder doesnt always mean it's better, the thing about it is that it's a game, people play it to have fun, not to be fucked over at every turn. Ideas like airborne virus are crap, it means that anyone without a gasmask is basically as good as dead. Some people want to just have fun, not go through hell so while your ideas are nice for those who like a challenge, some of us just want to kill zombies and roam around looking for food and water instead of hoarding every tin can and road flare in sight.

Well though you have a point and I do respect people that like to play games to have fun. But the fact is you just bought ArmA 2 you can't really just "Have fun" without taking some hard blows. This game is not a go easy fun fair. I'm sorry its just the facts.

I play COD, I play CSS, I play BF3, I play DDO, I also play DayZ, so which of those 'groups' should I be pigeon holed into for the sake of you having someone to point the finger at ?

Let me say this, the trolls in this game are DayZ trolls, they play THIS game, otherwise they wouldn't be here, it's people from this very community who are trolling it.

You really think that someone is going to take the time and effort to buy a game specifically for the purpose of trolling ? - and you also think that those same people who would do this incredibly unlikely thing are also COD players exclusively ?

Well I can't really say anything about the troll part I'm not into that particular part of Internet Gaming. But what i can say is that there is a lot of ArmA 2 copies that have been sold due to Dayz wide popularity ever since it's release in May.

I think Armybow is not really holding a grudge but I believe that there is kinda a giant vibe about COD players that has kinda built up in the PC gaming world. There has always been opinion conflicts on which COD and BF3 and ArmA series are better but I guess all I can say is ACE... All the way.

Don't know about COD kiddies, Arma 2 Dayz is the 2cd online shooter I've ever played. AA being the first 5-6 years ago. Zombies are supposed to have unlimited endurance, most of the stories/literature say so. They are also supposed to be attracted to sound and (usually) be slower then a speedwalking human. If that ain't so this old marine says give me unlimited stamina too so I can at least try to outrun them, otherwise what's the point? If I cannot possibly survive more then an hour or to Why would I want to play?

Unlimited endurance is one thing its changing the speed of them that makes the difference. A zombies cannot perform professional sprints with there perfect fit, healthy bodies. At least make them slower if we have to run from them at least we can outrun them. If you have to shoot the damn things.

Indeed there wont be much ACE feedback from "CoD people" like me, because the first thing I see in your topic is "CoD kiddies" , it automatically makes me think that the following post must be a "whinge" of some description or written by someone who has some kind of chip on their shoulder about some imagined group that spoils their fun.

To me this seems to be a case on fanboi-ism, it is present in most FPS unfortunately, my FPS is better than your FPS, so you must be a "kiddie" or any number of other names that people like to call each other.

But once again I make the statement that the people playing this game are DayZ people, on account of them playing THIS game.

I would say that most people play a number of games, so which one do we pick to make snide remarks about them, claiming the community of another game are "kiddies" and therefore any such behaviour in "your" FPS community must by default be the result of the other group coming in and "trolling".

I would advise you to look at the forums here, take a good look around and see the level of maturity displayed amongst the threads.

I think you will find that this community as a whole is on par with any other, and has just the same elements etc, it's not specific to a game, it's just something that happens in all online gaming communities.

To make remarks against one or the other is just causing more and more animosity between everyone, and at the end of the day any "real" topic gets ignored and the animosity just grows.

Am I "mad" ? - No, I am however trying to interject and perhaps help in stopping that kind of thing, because by my reasoning, if it gets sorted in one community, then it will hopefully spread, as once again, most of us here are probably a part of many such gaming communities.

(and the term "CoD Kiddies" is not a "meme", that's like saying "CSS Kiddies" is a meme, it's not, it's just a way for one group to mock the other nothing more nothing less, you can put any game name in front of "kiddies" and have the same result).
