Toytown 0 Posted March 31, 2022 Hi, I've used the search and cannot find anything relevant, but as title, is there a way to limit the server fps in Linux (1.17 Experimental)? After starting up the server i see the following in the console 11:15:14 Average server FPS: 6920.00 (measured interval: 1 s) 11:15:15 Average server FPS: 10207.00 (measured interval: 1 s) 11:15:16 Average server FPS: 7812.00 (measured interval: 1 s) 11:15:17 Average server FPS: 7240.00 (measured interval: 1 s) 11:15:18 Average server FPS: 10623.00 (measured interval: 1 s) Now i understand that this is a low pop server with only 4-5 players on at that time, but its still completely unnecessary its just wasting cpu cycles, using unnecessary power/heat. As a work around i'm limiting the CPU to the server to only 33% of a single core, this gives me an average of around 450fps. Is there an official solution to this? shuter165 8 Posted March 31, 2022 (edited) -cpuCount=4 -limitFPS=200 Working on windows.. Edited March 31, 2022 by shuter165
Toytown 0 Posted March 31, 2022 (edited) Shuter165 Thanks for the feedback, i used the limitFPS switch on the command line and it limited the FPS to just under 200 (190-198) which seemed to be perfect........however,I noticed that Uncapped im getting between 7000-10000fps and its using 100% of 3 cpus Capped to 200fps using the cmd line option limitFPS is using 100% of 2 cpus Capped in linux to use 33% of 1 single cpu is giving me 450fps~ So it seems something is buggy with the Linux limitFPS option, i wonder if its the same in Windows?
