Clap dem cheeks hoe 3 Posted March 23, 2022 I’d love to see the following additions to dayz during night cycles 1. Flickering Street Lights The lighting effects in dayz are fantastic and I’d love to see it used more during night cycles. The addition of the odd flickering street light in certain areas would do wonders for game immersion. Imagine wondering around looting an area under the cover of darkness and spotting another player or zombie shuffling past a dimly lit shopfront. Or players using the light of a streetlight to review the tourist map or compass during the night. Making them easy targets. I would love to see this change. Would be great if it just existed static on the map however having to fill a huge generator in elektro power station with fuel to power certain lighting would be cool too. 2. Changes to night vision There is an abundance of really great lighting tools in dayz to assist players making their way across the map during a night cycle. Unfortunately due to the huge advantage of night vision goggles you won’t see many lights used outside of coastal areas. I’d love to see a small nerf to night vision goggles in the form of battery drain to level the playing field a little. Having the night vision goggles burn through a 9 volt battery much quicker would force players to ration their goggles and level the playing field against fresher players.
rackinglad27 138 Posted March 23, 2022 your first point sounds really good and I agree in the second too. nerf the night vision yes but if that's the case the devs should raise the spawn cap from 5 per server to like 10 or 15. I haven't found any damn nvgs since the Christmas event lol
William Sternritter 449 Posted March 23, 2022 While the light is a very atmospheric idea, it kinda makes no sense. Because even while the power grid is connected, there is no power to it. Otherwise, survivors could just plug their base lights and such in the wall and not bother with generators. Conventional power plants simply shut down due to lack of fuel and there is no nuclear power plant running on automatic.
