WOLVERlNES 135 Posted February 28, 2022 (edited) I love to build bases, and know all the tips and tricks we can employ; but, with that being said — there’s a major issue with base building, clipping. Base, fences and Towers are too finicky and the slightest piece of terrain or structure that gets in the way prevents building. ‘There’s a myriad of situations where we ought to be able to place a fence or watch tower and we simply can’t. Be more forgiving with clipping through the environment so we can build successful bases. Part of this could be alleviated if we had 3 fence sizes as discussed in my thread: 3 Fence Sizes Another item that could remedy clipping, is to let main fence & tower posts be able to overlap, for its extremely difficult to get fences and towers, towers and towers, or any other combinations to sit seamlessly next to one another. Instead, all too often a fence kit won’t allow me to place another section post next to a previously built post. So, I have a gap between objects, which is silly and turns our bases into Swiss Cheese from all the parameter gaps that hostiles can shoot thru. On the flip side, survivors can use animation exploits to clip through a base wall and bypass fences like they don’t even exist. In closing: Let builders place fence and watchtower kits closer together to prevent fence gaps Let construction of fences and watch towers clip through environments (within reason) so construction doesn’t halt because one watch tower won’t let you build one side or upwards because a small edge from something nearby clips into it Fix the animation exploits survivors are using to bypass fences and watch towers, I’m not going to elaborate on them because I don’t want to encourage their usage. Add Small, Medium & Large (current size) fences and gates to provide survivors with greater building flexibility Fix Fence Platforms so they’re useful — if used to observe hostiles outside the base, the survivors defending inside cannot aim and shoot at targets outside the base Edited March 2, 2022 by WOLVER1NES
