1. INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the Night Raiders of the Apocalypse Dayz server on PC.

Darkness has fallen on civilization and the world is a terrible place. The few humans who remain after the Fall as it’s known are spread across the planet surviving as best as they can either alone or in small groups. The only way to communicate now is by radio which is difficult at best and traveling anywhere is extremely dangerous.

When the Fall happened, you were in the process of traveling and are one of the fortunate or not so fortunate few to survive. You find yourself on a series of islands and wherever you were going is no longer as important as your immediate survival. You have managed to collect a few supplies and weapons and must now figure out how you will make it through each day while finding your way across this corner of the world.

Will you go solo, with a gang, or join one of the large factions…it’s up to you to decide and survive.

2. SURVIVORS
During your travels, you will encounter other survivors. Some may be friendly while others may try to rob or kill you. Some are on their own while others are part of small gangs or large factions.

There are four main factions and each can be identified by the colored arm band they wear.

Death Dealers Anonymous (DDA) (black armbands)

DDA are a military group based out the mine on Crotch Island.

They usually shoot first but have been known to work with others on occasion. They tend to look at the world as a tactical problem to be solved and are very aware of the world they now live in. DDA uniforms are all black to blend into the darkness of the mine looking like moving shadows when they travel above ground. 

Katahdin Military Command (KMC) (red armbands)

Primarily found on Silent Island, they are a well-equipped military force seeking to control the islands on behalf of some unknown government or corporate organization. They send out regular patrols and almost always kill on sight. There have been occasional although rare reports that KMC took prisoners although the reasons remain to be known.

NOTE: This is an ai group faction. You can join but will be KOS by all faction members and non aligned players.

The Raiders (green armbands)

The Raiders are a group of mostly ex-military survivors concentrated around the center of the lower island. 

They are not friendly and will usually kill anyone on sight sometimes leaving only one prisoner to warn others away.

The Scavengers (blue armbands)

The Scavengers are group of well-organized survivors, based in the mountains of the northern island, they are usually friendly but won’t hesitate to defend themselves if attacked.

3. DANGERS

Animals

The islands are inhabited by all sorts of animals that are most likely to avoid you although there are two that are very dangerous. Wolves and bears can be found almost anywhere, and either will not hesitate to attack you.

Monsters

The islands are home to a very large number of terrible creatures that were spawned during the Fall. They range from humans infected with something that caused them to become violent and attack on sight to monsters right out of the pages of horror stories. 

Undead like creatures, horribly mutated humans, and vampiric alien like creatures are just a few of what can be encountered when traveling or exploring.

Psychic Storms

These storms usually begin with distant thunder or rumbling. Over time sounds like voices and even footsteps can be heard. Eventually the storm develops into high winds and suddenly ends with a strange drone and pulse that has been known to knock someone unconscious when inside or even kill them if outside.

During the Fall, scientist managed to create a helmet that protects from the energy of the storm. APSI helmets can sometimes be found among the ruins or can be purchased at some of the trader locations.

Toxic Zones

There are a number of military bases and city areas around the islands that are regularly kept under a toxic green cloud by the KMC. Their reason for doing this is not known and they seem willing to expend a fair amount of resources to maintain these zones. 

Each attack starts with the sound of an artillery shell flying overhead and ends with the shell detonating high above dispersing the gas which drifts slowly to the ground.

To explore a zone covered by the green cloud, you will need a full NBC suit. If you become sick from the toxin, you will need to either use a PO-X injector or try a transfusion of blood.

The cloud so far has not shown to be permanent and slowly recedes until it dissipates completely. KMC’s attacks seem random, and no pattern has yet been found as they switch between locations so stay alert and ready to run out of the zone.

Weather

Weather across the islands can range from warm and sunny to cold and rainy. Fortunately, snow is rare and when it occurs it does not last long. However, it can get extremely cold and you will need to take precautions especially if it rains during the cold spell.

4. AREAS OF INTEREST

Below are a few of the many areas scattered across the islands that may be of interest to you.

Barren Falls (Safe Zone)

A small community of traders has set up at the south base of the mountains of the large north island. The area around this community is considered safe and weapons cannot be used.

Black Market

Located somewhere in the center of the lower large island, the black market sells all manner of weapons and equipment. It has been known to move on occasion and can not always be counted on being in the same spot.

Devils Eye

No one knows what or who created the Devil’s Eye. The entrance to the eye is located at the top of a hill next to an ancient stone tower and the area is overrun by all types of creatures. The Eyev consists of a deep shaft plunging into the earth with rough stone ledges that provide a means of descent for those brave or crazy enough to try.

It is rumored that the KMC had a secret supply base at its bottom.

Old Town (the Refuge)

Located on the northwestern end of the lower large island, it has a very strong defense force that protects the community. Known as the Refuge, violence between survivors is not tolerated and any attack on another will be met with an immediate response to terminate the offenders.

Toxic Zone

This town was once known as Sandy Bay but is now known as the Toxic Zone or Dark Zone by some survivors.

During the Fall, this town was the first to experience its citizens becoming sick. Some turned violent attacking anyone on sight while others mutated into nightmarish creatures.

The town is surrounded by walls built by the local authorities to keep the infected residents confined. Over time, the walls have deteriorated, and some creatures manage to find their way out.

In the early days of the Fall, the authorities established a number of secure vaults to house weapons, equipment, and other valuable items. It is believed that these vaults are this secure and some survivors have been known to try their luck.

Silent Island

Before the Fall, this island housed a major military base and a great deal of high-grade military weapons, equipment, and other items remain locked in secure vaults. The KMC are trying to take control of the island and their patrols are ruthless shooting anyone they find on sight.
