Screen stays at loading help

once i load up the game and pick a server, i click play and the mod begins to load. after a minute or so the screen turns black with yellow writing that says loading. The screen will then stay like that and nothing will happen, sometimes i can even hear people talking through the server and the sounds of the game. please help me find out what is going on :(
