harvesting building mats

is there any way to inclued additional harvesting piles for building mats?

the lumber pile is realy usefull for quick access to planks but would it be possible to include harvesting log piles with say a axe for logs and possibly some way of harvesting sheeting/wire with say pliers from construction zones?

i am only asking this since on community servers mods seem to mess up the spawn allocation for the metal mats and after the first day people have horded so much none will spawn (or they just want to force people to buy it from a trader).
