Riddick_2K 174 Posted June 4, 2021 Is there anyone who knows a "legitimate" way to know the names of players who frequent a particular DayZ Vanilla server without being in it ? I know from "Steam> Friends> Users with whom you have recently played" but only if you were also in the game... or directly in game with the Steam overlay "shift + tab" and you can read the names of the players in the current game... but you have to be in the game... Is it possible to know the names of those who frequent a specific vanilla server without necessarily having to log in ? Thanks to every suggestion
Funkmaster Rick 373 Posted June 16, 2021 What a weird question. I'm curious now. Are you stalking someone or trying to hide from someone?
Riddick_2K 174 Posted June 22, 2021 No, I don't have to "stalking" anyone. One on Steam asked me for friendship (result, after, of my country) and in chat he wrote me that he saw that I and another were the main frequenters of that server (one of the "Public/Veteran") and since he also frequented him to make a "non-belligerent pact". Too bad that actually I go there often on that server because I made a small base and from that moment on I have always followed all the players present when I played it... the other player I had seen many times, but this never... and since "strange things" also happened at the same time, never seen before on DayZ , and months before I had had some "bad misadventures" with some of my compatriots who had "uncommon powers" on DayZ, it immediately put me "on the alert", I would not want it to be the "continuation of the saga". As far as I know, he told me a lie... but for the sake of scruple I wanted to check WELL if there was the possibility that he was right, or if I have to "worry again" ...
nemorus 265 Posted June 22, 2021 There were once ranking-like lists on a web but were purged when GDPR-like acts happened. Admins have access to such data currently. Other than that? Maybe through scripts or other players.
Riddick_2K 174 Posted June 28, 2021 @ nemorus Thanks for the reply. In fact I think it was sent by someone I had among friends on Discord who, unfortunately, wanted to be a fool too, sending another forward. Apparently they both believed I was the idiot, but they misplaced their accounts. For a while I "gave him rope" in a cordial and collaborative way... as I always do with everyone, but I rarely get paid... and I must say that he also seemed to correspond... but the fact remains that he told me a lie, and unfortunately, now, I have other problems in RL that have priority and I don't have much time "to waste" on DayZ just to see where some idiots that I had the misfortune to meet want to go. At that point I also asked him how he knew that I was one of the biggest patrons of that server if we had NEVER played together before, and that I knew it because since I had made the base, I always checked all the players present in the server every time that I logged in, and also checked if others came in or someone disconnected... but, instead of answering "seriously" (probably couldn't) he was offended and even blocked me on the Discord. Patience, it is not the first time that I have found "little shits" of various kinds in my country in online games (and not only in online games, unfortunately). Also for this, but mainly for my RL, I had asked for the cancellation of the account... but I'm sorry to throw everything away (especially giving money to BI for nothing), even if I don't have many games, and after a few weeks I canceled the request... I don't know now. I had already made the account "private", after the "bitches" of the last time. Now I have also changed nik and avatar, if it can be of any use, and I will keep the game in "pause" for a while and I will think about it a bit... at the moment I have many other more important problems to work on, unfortunately. P.S. Who knows if there is a way to "detox" from DayZ 😦
