Connect/Disconnect Messages without Modding

Recommended Posts

Hi guys! I have started setting up my server and have noticed that other Vanilla servers upon joining prompt the player with a message "PLAYERNAMEHERE joined the server!" or "PLAYERNAMEHERE Left the server" however I could not figure out how to get this to work on my server without modding it.

Thanks in advance!

I believe this MAY be possible by using the messages.xml file which is in the 'db' folder of the specific server mission folder.  HOWEVER, I believe the Notification System commands that exist in DayZ may be the better solution.  Unfortunately, the Wiki on the Bohemia site for DayZ is really bad (you'd think it would be better after a few years) about explaining all this.  For an explanation of the messages.xml format, check this page in the Wiki:

Cara, isso é feito através de script adicionado ao init.c do DayZ. Pode ser usado também com BEC para fazer a notificação ou Darth Server Edition que lê o arquivo DayZServer_x64.ADM e notifica na linha de chart quem entra e quem sai. Inclusive dá de habilitar killfeed também. Só não achei lugar nenhum com scripts para tal. Só pelo DARTH ativei.

Man, this is done through a script added to DayZ's init.c. It can also be used with BEC to notify or Darth Server Edition which reads the DayZServer_x64.ADM file and notifies in the chart line who enters and who leaves. You can even enable killfeed too. I just didn't find any place with scripts for that. Only by DARTH I activated.
