Can't use items or open doors

When ever I try to play I cant use any items or open any doors. I've tried verifying game files, reinstaling the game, switching to low ping servers, etc. Nothing works and I've hear about this problem occuring many times before after updates where only the devs could fix it.

I had the same problem and spent a week messing with different settings.  I found the fix to be disconnecting my VPN. It was messing with the connection. Good luck!

I have the same problem, sometimes.  I first verified the files and that worked, until I died.  Then for my respawn it happened again, but after I respawned again it worked fine.

I tried without my VPN and it did work better without the problem cropping up again.
