eddie820 2 Posted July 5, 2012 Ok, so i've been alive awhile now, enough that I haven't had to make a new character since the updates with the melee weapons. In that update I had enough food that I didn't need to replace the axe that was lost in the update. Today I found an axe and went to chop wood and it kept telling me that I needed to be in a forest or near a tree to chop wood which I was. My question is, do I need to equip the axe in primary slot to THEN chop wood? That's a bit inconvenient seeing as how my backpack is full with another rifle and other stuff. I searched and didn't find a topic that could help me so i'd appreciate it. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

BlackAlpha 12 Posted July 5, 2012 It's a little bit buggy. When inside a small patch of trees, it often doesn't recognize you are near a tree. Try a proper forest. Run inside to the middle of the forest (or patch of trees), stop right next to a tree, press G to open the inventory, right click on the hatchet and choose the option to chop wood. Make sure you have two empty spots available in your main inventory for the wood. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
