UntilValhalla27 3 Posted February 12, 2021 I'd like to start out by saying I really like the idea of self-sufficiency. I think it'd be real cool to build a camp in the middle of the wilderness and have very little need to leave the wilderness. Grow/hunt your food, water from nearby streams, etc. While there are alot of ways to improve being self sufficient in Dayz, I'd like to focus on clothing right now. The first time I killed a bear all I wanted to do was show off my prowess by wearing its pelt with a bear head hood. It got me thinking about the many possibilities that could come with that and I'll list them here: Leather Moccasins: Arguably the most important, gone are the days desperately searching for a pair of shoes that aren't ruined as your feet bleed and are torn to shreds by the soft green grass and smooth pavement of Chernarus. Made from any type of animal skin, Leather Moccasins would be warm, durable, and the added bonus of being quieter than normal shoes, though not very waterproof. Leather Pants: Crafted from Cow or Pig skins, It's designed to be more durable than functional, these leather pants don't have as much space for storage as many other pants but can take a beating and are moderately waterproof, as well as warm. Deer/Elk Pelt Pants: Considered to be an upgrade from regular leather pants, these Pants trade a little durability in exchange for a little extra storage space and a slight increase in warmth due to the fur left on the skins. Deer and Elk pants would be different in color bit same functionality. Woodsman Pants: The Ultimate Pants for the Self sufficient, these are Crafted with a combination of Deer/Elk pelts with Wolf Pelts. They'd be durable and warm with the storage of high end military pants. They'd blend in well with the wild forests and look good too. Leather Gloves: Crafted from Pig or Cow skin, Basic leather gloves that provide warmth and durability. Pelt Mittens: Crafted from Deer, Elk, Bear, or Wold skin, These warm mittens would provide additional warmth and waterproofing. Woodsman Belt: Crafted from any type of animal skin as well as some animal bone, this belt comes equipped with a sheath by default. Woodsman Coat: Crafted with both your choice of Pig or Cow skin alongside some animal bone, this jacket would be warm and durable but lacking in storage space and a hood. Sheepskin Jacket: Crafted from sheep/ram skin and animal bone, this jacket offers moderate warmth and storage, but its light color makes it more suitable for the gray colors of urban areas rather than the woods. This Jacket would have the option of using a head slot for a hood featuring the head of a Ram, providing extra warmth and waterproofing. Deerskin Jacket: Crafted from Deer skin and bone, this jacket would be quite warm, durable and with only slightly less storage than high end jackets. A mild upgrade from sheepskin, this one provides much better Camouflage in the woods and also has an optional hood featuring a buck head with Antlers. Stylish. Elk (stag) Skin Jacket: Crafted with Elk skin and bone, this Jacket would be quite warm, durable, very waterproof and the same storage as high end jackets. Its neutral colors make it acceptable for either urban or woodland environments but not exceptional. Add the optional hood featuring a bull elk head but rather than Antlers attached, they are severed into pieces and used as adornments since they are so large. Wolf Skin Jacket: Crafted from multiple wolf skins and bone, this jacket shows your prowess as a predator. Warm but not waterproof, this Jacket comes with a sheath built into the front shoulder area of the jacket so you're never without some teeth, though its color offers no camouflage. Optional hood features a wolf head. Bear Skin Coat: Crafted from Bear Skin and bone, it is extremely warm, very waterproof and more durable than the other jackets listed before. It's dark woodland color offers excellent camouflage with the forest floor, and it offers slightly more storage space than high end jackets. This coat has a concealed knife sheath. Optional hood features a bear head. Mountain Man Coat: The ultimate coat for the self sufficient woodsman. Crafted from Bear, Elk, Boar, and Hare skins and bone. This coat is long, exceptionally warm and waterproof, well camouflaged with more storage space than high end jackets. It features a leather holster that can accommodate either your choice of handgun or sawn off weapon. Optional hood is leather featuring teeth and bones of various woodland creatures. Woodland Operator Carrier: While the other jackets are nice, they offer little protection from gunfire. By combining Deer and your choice of wolf or bear (color variations) skins and a plate carrier, you can improvise an armored woodland jacket that is warm, waterproof, and the storage of both a plate carrier and a high end jacket. If these were implemented, I'd see no reason to not add human skin variants for you sick cannibals out there...
