Can't hear own footsteps

Well... As the title says, I joined a game on an existing survivor, couldn't hear my own actions, footeps etc. but I could hear doors opening and other users actions and footsteps.

Also my guns didn't make any sound at all.

I logged out only to find that my user insta died when I logged back in.

Respawned and still no sound.

Any suggestions or fixes? I've tried uninstalling and installing again - to no use..

If you’re on Xbox then go into your settings. Go into network settings. Advanced settings and clear your mac address. It’s worked for me multiple times. Also works with game chat bugs too

I'm having the same issue. Verified game files. Completely uninstalled and reinstalled. Still can't hear character audio (voice or footsteps). Hear all other audio. Please help.

Did you ever solve the issue? Somehow this rare bug has spread to me as well...
