Help with controller x__x

Hey does anyone know how to map keys for xbox controller on pc? Idk how and trying find something where i can attempt to make my own button configuration but I cant see any option how to. The default config i played 1st day wasn't actually bad except i couldn't figure out how to crouch or crawl, use emotes. But when i played today the config has been altered and is now much worse im really frustrated and need to make my own :/

I have to admit, even on the xbox version, the controller setup is very non traditional, and I found myself getting killed right away without being able to equip and use a knife I had found......apparently the ammoless handgun I found and was in my hands was blocking me from being able to get my knife out to defend myself. I kept going into inventory, highlighting the knife and attempting to equip, only to have nothing happen. Then when I readied up and tried to attack the zombie, I would go "click click" with the still in my hands empty handgun.
Its going to take some time to get used to these very unusual controller configurations.
