Loosing loot when shoving large items in backpack

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Date/Time: 13:09 (1:09 PM GMT -7) Thursday July 5, 2012

What happened: Lost a really good gun by putting it in my backpack

Where you were: north east of Chernogorsk

What you were doing: Putting my gun away because it ran out of bullets. Using hatchet to attack enemies.

*Current installed version: 1.7.1.5

*Server(s) you were on: Seattle 108

*Your system specs: Windows 7 (64-bit) 3 gighz quad core, 4 gigs of ram

*Timeline of events before/after error:

Before: entered the game, found a really rare gun (silenced MP5) in a barn, roamed around a bit. Ran out of ammo and tried to put the gun in my backpack hoping that it would fall out if it was too big.

After: I loaded and unloaded by backpack, dropped it and picked it back up, re-connected to see if it had dropped. I also went back to it's spawn to check if it dropped where it spawned.

I've come to a new bug that I've had troubles with before.

When you put an item in a backpack that is larger then the amount of space the pack has available the item is stored and invisible.

A simple way around this is to free up some space in the pack and the item will re-appear taking up the correct amount of space.

Although the most trouble is when you have full free spaces and you put an item in, it's lost forever. I tried filling and emptying the pack, but to no avail the item will not come back.

Should I be looking in the ARMA 2 forums for this? Asking them to fix this issue?

I hope it's resolved soon, many people are trying the game and finding many bugs then wanting to never have come across them in the first place.

Another issue about backpacks and loosing items, is that when you "take" a new backpack you loose your previous pack and all the items that was in it. Players have to drop their current pack and pick up the new one and "open" the old pack to get their loot.
