Vehicle clutch logic modification

Recommended Posts

Im trying to work on a hardcore vehicles mod that changes the clutch to be manually controlled. IE. user must press a (remappable) button to engage the clutch. Failure to do so would result in the engine stalling if stopped and in gear, and damage to the engine damage zone if shifting while not using the clutch.

Unfortunately I have been unable to find the clutch logic code that controls the clutch when the vehicle isn't in motion and/or the transmission is in too high of a gear at slow speed. In fact I can only find very very little code related to the clutch and engine logic. The logic I could find appears to be a Boolean, which seems to only be part of the equation. That cant account for the fact that the game controls the clutch friction variably when starting or going up a steep hill. Is it baked into the p3d file of the vehicles or something? I've been searching for days using the notepad++ "Find in files" function and I cannot find anything for the life of me.
