So I'm just wondering will dayz be on nexted gen console's and will we see mods for consoles this year if where getting mods

I believe Bohemia clarified this in a twitter post that if it is backwards compatible there should be no issues. In regards to mods, some people say that it will need a storefront to download those mods à la Fallout 4, but that doesn't mean Sony or Microsoft would support it. MS might but Sony may not as as in the case of Fallout. Bohemia promised 'greater freedom' but I think that just means greater control over the server not something you need to download.
