Buldozer/Terrain Builder issue when moving objects

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am experiencing a strange bug with Buldozer (and maybe Terrain Builder by extension); it has affected me since I started in Terrain Editor. In short, every time I move/rotate an object in Buldozer it seems to "teleport" (or maybe lag) back to its previous position. The object usually ends up moving itself back to where I wanted it, but sometimes it doesn't. The issue gets worse if I move an object multiple times in quick succession - it will shift between all previous positions. I can still move the camera during this time (Buldozer itself does not lag at all), but I cannot tab back into Terrain Builder until the object has settled. During this time, Terrain Builder seems to be the thing lagging out - like it's struggling to update the object's position and is locking up as it loads.

I have asked multiple mappers about this to no avail, which makes me think it's either some rare bug with the program or (more likely?) a weird interaction with some part of my PC. I have also: moved both DayZ Tools and DayZ to an SSD, uninstalled and reinstalled DayZ Tools, verified DayZ Tools, ran Terrain Builder as Administrator, and ensured my drivers are up-to-date, etc.

Resource manager shows nothing abnormal when this is happening. It happens every time I move an object, regardless of the map I'm editing. Other mappers on this map do not have this issue, and I have no idea how it could be replicated.

Here is a video: https://i.imgur.com/1v7toOG.mp4.

Thanks in advance.

this is new to me, used the DayZ tools now for about 1000 hours.

Arma 3 are almost identical used it over 4000 hours but never seen this before.

Only happens with street objects?

remind me to the toggle Snappoints, when they are activated two objects are snapping together.

It happens with all objects. Moving objects in Terrain Builder is fine, Buldozer is not. It happens with and without snap-points enabled. The issue does not occur when editing the terrain in Buldozer.

Honestly I think this is probably a Windows/hardware issue I'll need to figure out how to solve myself, I was just wondering if anyone had seen anything like this before.

Thanks for the reply!
