Wood vs Metal

Hey All

Looking for some info from you base builders out there. When building walls and watchtowers, is it better to use metal sheeting instead of wood? 

I've noticed wooden walls leave small gaps above and below which can be shot through...does sheet metal stop this i.e. overlap etc?

Metal requires less time and resources, but has zero ballistic protection, and must be used for watch tower roofs.

Wood requires more time and effort because greater amounts of wooden planks are needed; however it’s more durable vs base destruction and offers protection from hostile gun fire.
