Bad serial number?

Well I'm one of those people who bought Arma2 just for this mod, and I am having issues joining a server I keep getting this message that tells me I have a bad serial number that was given in setup. What did I do wrong?

Well duh! Enter the wrong serial number obviously?!

No, seriously though, try a different server, had this issue myself by joining one.

If not, verify the games intergity in steam (right mouse ARMA CO and go to the options)

Actually, If I think about it, FIRST run Arma (cant remember if its OA or OC you run. Once you've run that once, it should be fine)

It is not letting me run OA it says "No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgInGameUI/MPTable.shadow'."

and when I try and run OC it said "error compiling pixel shader PSSpecularAlpha:0", and now it will not even try to run now.

I did mess around a tiny bit with the cfg file in arma2 while I was doing some of the tutorials, could that have done something to mess up OA and OC?

Nope.

Go into steam

Right mouse Arma 2, Operation Arrowhead.

Go to Properties

Go to Set launch options, enter the following exactly:-

-mod=@dayz

Go to local files 2 tabs along.

Verigy integrity of game cache

Run Arma2 CO once (I use to get a stupid command prompt, but it stopped)

Close the game

Run six launcher (or updater, but then if updater set the preferences for Dayz, can't remember how)

Choose your server

Once you're in, close the launcher to stop lagging every 10 secs.

There was one file that said needed to be reaquired after I verified the integrity of the game cache, is there a step two to this?

Ok now I'm getting a message that says "Addon 'dayz_code' requires addon 'CABuildingParts'". When I try to run OA and it only shows the command prompt briefly when I run CO and nothing else.

I just had it too (while using my Betapatch shortcut), then I started Combined Ops from Steam, it worked normal...then I retried my Shortcut, and everything was K.

Only difference between today and yesterday (when it worked fine), was that I verified game cache, and Bad Serial came along for the ride

the steam version strikes again...

usually this happens when someone launches the beta wrong.

follow this tutorial, edit the cmd and remove " -windowed" from the .cmd file (right click and edit). http://dayz.sykotix.com/arma-ii-beta-client-install/

Well, if you spent 30$ for DayZ you are kinda silly. DayZ is in alpha, buggy and hard to get working.

BUT, have you made sure you are launching Combined Ops?....when you start up Arrowhead, go in the Expantion menu, and make sure: Arma 2, Arma2 Arrowhead and DayZ is enabled.

So I've tried all of these options, and nothing has worked. Can I just delete my OA content and reinstall? Or does that not make the problem go away? Cause I know for a fact that this computer can run the main game, but my laptop has some heating issues and causes some visual problems. However I have actually gotten to the mod on my laptop.

Isn't that just grand? Can run it on the laptop but can't see a damned thing. Can run it without graphical problems on the main computer, but the OA decides to have problems. WOO!
