Thy Catafalque - Holdkomp (DayZ soundtrack problem on Youtube)

Recommended Posts

So, I just finished uploading episode 8 of my DayZ series to Youtube, I waited for it to finish processing so I could select a thumbnail. When it was ready, I selected a thumbnail, but it would not save, as apparently a third party copyright claim had been put on it (literally the second it had uploaded) for the following piece of music -

Now, I had no idea about this song being anything other than part of the game soundtrack, I had no idea what the track name was, or who the band are. None of my other videos have been clamped by Youtube for featuring this music, even the guy who uploaded the song in the above link hasn't been affected!

Just thought i'd give people the heads up in case any of your Youtube videos get taken down. I've disputed the claim, but who knows how that'll go.

"Dispute rejected; claim has been reinstated."

So now I cannot edit my video at all. I can't change the thumbnail, I can't chain my videos together with annotation links, update the tags or even put in a credit for this bullplop. What a massive waste of everyones time for absolutely no reason!

Be careful if you upload DayZ vids now, you might suffer similar hassle!

All except one of my vids (coz of a mic issue) has the music just about barely audible in the background, the game sounds and my commentary dominate, yet still Youtube detected the song! I think this video that's had the claim on it is only because the music plays whilst i'm not talking for like, 10 seconds (concentrating).
