multiple issues, new to the game.

well ive been hearing alot about the game so yesterday i decided to shell out $30 so i could play it, after watching some online action from paulsoaresjr. so i purchased combined operations, installed them both, ran them both once. (followed a youtube tutorial) then i installed DayZ. everything appears to be current/up to date. i go to multiplayer and try to join a server, but 99% of them say "bad version" ive tried at least 15 different servers. every once in a while ill find on that it lets me join, it goes through a loading screen, lets me choose a role or whatever, then when i try to spawn in or join or whatever, it goes to a black screen that just had a loading bar at the bottom. the loading bar is full, but it just sits there...and never does anything. the strange thing is i heard some people talking in game for about 2 seconds. then nothing.

i REALLY wanna play this game! help? :/

i recommend using the six updater tool - it's awesome for keeping your game files up to date.

i had some issues when i started playing and this tool (despite me being sceptical about any tools) is something i wouldn't wnt to miss.

just got it/updated and everything. not im either getting the 'character loading' issue or the error for the weapons thing. :/ this is starting to feel like a wasted $30.. not to mention whenever i try to start the game up, im not able to use the internet. i have to close it out and then reopen my god damn browser.

make sure you got the newest beta patch/include the beta patch into sixupdater (it is downloadable under the "mods" tab)

also: you didn't really pay 30wingwangs for DayZ.What you shelled out money for was Arma 2/Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead

well arma itself its pretty lame. i ONLY bought it for DayZ.

doesnt the sixupdater take care of it all for you? i thought thats why it was an updater tool. i ran it and it updated something anyway. i dont have time for this. i spent all day yesterday fighting this, and now i gotta leave for work in a bit. all i wanna do is play the damn game

ok seriously, this updater makes no sense to me. im looking under the mods tab.. theres 8 billion things.. none of which say anything about beta or anything of the sort..

Im having the EXACT same problem i fought this all day yesterday first i got slammed with the bad serial error than i got past that and i have the "bad version" error now it lets me in to pick my role ext. but then it loads gets stuck either on the loading screen or sends me back to the main menu of Arma 2. ive tried both ways of running the game through the six launcher and the regular game, but to no avail. It's driving me insane i get so close to playing and bam, the game says fuck you. Any help would be appreciated a lot of us are having this problem.

the error about the weapon config file is nothing serious - just click "ok" or whatever the button says and ignore it...

the six updater does take care of it all for you - if you "tell him what you want taken care of".

there is loads of video guides on how to install dayz on youtube go check them out (yes - if there is a need for a guide on how to properly install a piece of software it means the installation process should be reviewed).

ive watched them. didnt help. and when i click 'ok' on that error, it takes me back to the server browser. this is making me so mad! this game looks amazing, but apparently it doesnt want me to play it
