This is how I got TrackIR V to work with DayZ Exp

Recommended Posts

Hi,

What I have:

1. TrackIR V (latest software version), clip or pro .... I've both

2. DayZ Exp (latest version), DayZ exp server (I'm running my own server to test this)

3.  You are going to edit some files in your Document folder.  Back up your Documents...I take no responsibility for you screwing up your stuff.  Go to Users / Your Name (whatever you call yourself) / Documents

4.  Go to your DayZ exp folder in Documents.  There are two files yourname.core xml and yourname.dayz_present_User xml.  Eventhough IRTracker is listed in these files, don't edit them.  Does no good.  I have a folder called 'Server' within the "DayZ exp' folder.   In that folder are 4 files:  profile.vars.DayZProfile, Server.core xml, Server.dayz_preset_User xml, and Server_Settings.DayZProfile.  You will need to edit both xml files. I use Sublime Text to do this.   Find in the server.core xml file the first 3 lins that say "IRtracker_VScale", "IRtracker_HScale", and "IRTracker".  You will need to edit them to say "TrackerIR_VScale", "TrackerIR_HScale", and "TrackerIR".  Save the file.  Next find the file called Server.Dayz_present_User.xml.  Open it up and go to the bottom last 13 lines.  You will find the controller name = "IRTracker"  Change the name to "TrackerIR".  Then save it.

5.  You should have another older in your Documents folder called DayZ Other Profiles. In this folder I have the same "Server" folder that was in the DayZ exp folder.  What the hell.  I edited it to be the same as the one in the DayZ exp folder.

6.  I also have another folder in Documents.  It is called DayZ Other Profiles Exp.  This folder is completely blank.  I'm guessing that my saved profiles are being stored in the "DayZ Other Profiles folder.

I have a buddy of mine test this out. He has it working as well by following these instructions.  I'll post later on more findings.

It does work, but this is experimental.  This may not work for everyone.

If anybody has a TrackIR V, do try this and post back.

Cheers!

Marty6

William,

TrackIR didn't work for me at all.  So, I decided to go in the files and edit them.  Once I did that, the TrackIR camera finally dispayed the "Green" light on the right side of the TrackIR camera.  Never did that before.  So, If anyone had a problem with the camera light not coming on, this was the solution that worked for me. My buddy had the same problem.  He went into his files as well and edited them and then it worked.

Granted only the vertical and horizontal features of the tracker works.  I wish that all functions worked.

cheers!

Ah, strange. Once they enabled it in one of the patches I haven't had issues.

What I mean is that you can no longer look around when holding a gun raised and so on.
