Private server and players question?

So I have my own private server. And have found there is a huge amount of them now. I find my self without a full server now. Seems like so many of us have gotten our own servers that their is a lack of players for these servers . I have talk to others and a few including myself will probably not renew ours. What's the point in having an empty or a server where you cannot fill . I see alot of low or empty ones out there. And I know I'm not the only one. So if any individual owner or player is looking to get rid of theirs and want to join mine or I can join there's let me know. Let's just build one good server with players and not have empty ones. Some of us also willing to help pay for these servers . I personally have gotten bored having five to 8 players and rather just play on public now. So if this makes sense and let's see what all of us can do. Don't get me wrong there are some great full ones also. But the servers seem to me out do the players in numbers.

As a UK resident I will try and use a UK server and do not have a server of my own.My limited console experience is very different to my PC experience which goes back a couple of years. Early thoughts are the same as you in that the number of servers is drastically excessive and I have rarely seen one that is full. For me as a new console Dayz player it is a bonus as I can get to use a less populated server to learn the controls and get up to speed. This said when I am up to speed what doe's each server offer that makes it different. I am not a shoot on sight player but the DayZ climate tends to be shoot on sight where my best experiences on PC have been from random meetings with like minded players. Your idea is an appealing and sensible one but for me something to work towards.

I find that people on their own servers with friends they tend to have role-play and have their own bases. Then when they want to just grab some loot and shoot up people they go to public servers and have fun killing away. But the servers are same as public only difference is the server owner can make rules to follow and if you don't can boot you. You cannot do any mods or anything like that. You can set your day and night settings  That's about it.

The search browser is all buggy and some ppl ave found away to manipulate it to make them hit the top page!! I have a server that used to get fall (50pop) now it’s hard to get 10ppl in it I have paid for a year so I’m stuck with it my biggest problem is that ppl don’t like playing 1st person when it’s the right and only way to play!! Once all the low pop server go then the ones that remain will stand up to the test also a lot of ppl stopped playing dew to how laggy and buggy the servers are at the moment and with the lack of admin controls all the servers are the same hopefully it will improve as BI needs the money

I find 1st person is the best way. It's alot more realistic. Specially in a fight.

There are more than 4000 servers out there, There are server in page 100 get full pop all day and there are server on page 1 low pop all time, It's not about renting a server and running it and you get players right away, Bohemia nor Nitrado never promise this nor part of their service agreement, It's always about engaging with your community and build 1 and what kinda admin you being, Have more engagement with community on social media discord, etc

I hear ya, I was hoping to see less of them as well so that the private servers could fill out a bit more.  I have also moved to a private server belonging to another gaming community with over 600 players for various games, DayZ being one of them.  Seems to be growing everyday but yeah, I'd like to see just a little more activity and there being 4000 servers all each with 1 or 2 players or none at all is a bit much.

So today I decided to play on a public server just to get a new character and have some fun .don't care if I get killed as a new spawn. Just to have fun with others. And I found majority of servers are low and medium. Not alot are full. Kinda sucks to see. So I entered a medium one local to California and there was six others in there according to online status. So is six considered medium now ?
