Unable to locate running instance of steam

I have had this issue going on a week and I cannot play the game. It started when I installed Survivor games. Every time I run Dayz it launches goes to a black screen then kicks me out shuts down the app and steam and gives that error message (same as title).

I have tried uninstalling and many other fixes and none have worked so far :(
