HowsMyShot 20 Posted August 26, 2019 anyone with 100 slot experience lag when server is full pop for example players skipping when there is more than 2-3 in 1 place?
SillyJoe 112 Posted August 26, 2019 The performance is a bad joke on PS4, even on full pop 64+ slot servers... This game is dying slowly but surely because the devs are lame and unprofessional. Most of my buddys allready quited the game and I'm pretty sure that they will avoid everything from BI in the future.
MaVerick_GDZ 148 Posted August 26, 2019 Beefy hardware is absolutely nessessary for good performance with 60+ players. I think Nitrado underestimated this, resulting in problems when servers are getting full. As a customer you are left with a few choices, reduce your maximum slots to a degree where it keeps being playable when full, send them one support ticket after another so things get moving or cancel your server as a last resort if nothing helps. Expecting a playable experience with 100 slots is pretty illusional at this point, even on PC. We have drawn the line at 70 slots atm, server FPS are getting some serious hits with everything above that.
SillyJoe 112 Posted August 27, 2019 https://server.nitrado.net/eng/pages/data_centers Quote CPU Nitrado currently only installs latest-generation Intel Xeon / Scalable processors. Because we’re an Intel Partner, we often have access to the newest CPU models before they even hit the market, always bringing us one step ahead. We run up to 44 cores in a single server, which allows us to simply shrug off common fluctuations in resource usage. For big game servers with many player slots, however, high clock frequency is more important than having many cores. This is why we have a wide variety of different CPU models in our arsenal, and our system will automatically assign your game server to a hardware configuration that ensures a great gaming experience. Quote SSD Storage All of our game servers exclusively use enterprise-grade SSD storage. This heavily benefits games with large worlds, as this data is constantly written to and read from the storage. This way we ensure minimum loading times while playing and also during server updates and restarts. Quote ECC RAM Our servers all use Error-Correcting Code (ECC) RAM. ECC RAM automatically detects and corrects errors that occur in memory. Those errors don’t occur too often, but when they do, they could potentially lead to data corruption and even crashes if only standard RAM was used. This is why we go for that extra bit of stability and exclusively use ECC RAM in our servers. I feel like that DayZ is the weak link here and I feel that it's almost a SCAM to offer 100 slot servers. As I said, even 60+ slot servers are getting way to laggy and rubish when full/high pop... ALL I HAVE TO SAY, FIX YOUR DAMN GAME BI!!!!!!!!!
