When patches are released, like the upcoming 1.05: will private servers be required to reset/wipe? In other words, what can we expect as the game is updated? It would be nice to know how much we can experience with these.

Usually your server hoster and/or the devs will let you know about necessary wipes with an upcomming update a few days in advance.
