hallgraeme 17 Posted July 5, 2012 Guys and Girls,Can someone explain to me how loot spawns? Is there a time period for this happening? If i walk into a church, clear it of loot and come back 20 mins later will new stuff have appeared? Is it always the same stuff that spawns in a given area? Or if i picked up an G17 from a hunting tower, could a M9 spawn there next or will it always be a G17?Thanks

andy_uk15@hotmail.com 70 Posted July 5, 2012 TBH, I've never sat at a spawn long enough to count.Suffice to say, a server will replenish empty spawns faster. How long it takes to do so is entirely dependant on how long your willing to camp there.
Bludy 324 Posted July 5, 2012 i think loot changes, but i don't know how often is respawn, i noticed tha can be influenced by going in other buildings but i'm not sure, i camped a hospital for much more of 20' going everywhere around and outside and inside of H risking my life but nothing happend. i've read, or seen on youtube, can't remember..that if you take away EVERYTHING respawn will be quicker. for sure that if you disconnected in any kind of building, when you reconnect it will be empty
Mastiff (DayZ) 42 Posted July 5, 2012 for sure that if you disconnected in any kind of building' date=' when you reconnect it will be empty[/quote']This seems to be false or at least in my experience it has, on my current life I started on off on the shore as all noobs do and I move up to Solchniy or whatever, found a factory there and went into the factory looted most of the stuff and by then I had been playing for nearly an hour so I decided to take a break. I came back like 2 hours later and the entire building was replenished on the spawn. I don't know if it makes a difference but I only "aborted" but didn't go any further so in some sense I was still connected to the server the entire time I was AFK (probably a bad thing). If you logged in and it despawned all loot in the area it would be quite unfair for those who are currently there.
Bludy 324 Posted July 6, 2012 i was frustrated for getting almost killed by zombies and aborted and exited the game, it was a factory site near cherno and when i came back to start crawling it was completely empty, no cans at all.. weird
Ballistixz 12 Posted July 6, 2012 if im not mistaken, loot spawns once every 10 mins as long as ur about 100+ meters away from it? i could be wrong, but i heard that from somewhere. if ur in range it messes with the loot spawns and they wont spawn at all if ur in the area (to prevent camp farming i guess, but obviously that doesnt prevent farming and camping)again i could be wrong, but thats what i heard from someone in another thread. Catman (DayZ) 23 Posted July 6, 2012 it spawns based on distance and if nothing is in a spawn spot. So pick up ALL the loot dump it somewhere that's not a spawn. Go about 100m away, come back. New loot. Sometimes it gets messed up, it doesn't like it if you spawn in, you have to go ~100m away and then back. If you milk a location too much it starts to go iffy
teamRAVEGREEN 9 Posted July 6, 2012 Loot spawning seems to be different per server, at least in my experience. Maybe it is that the server is badly in need of a reboot/resync, but I've been on a server that it seemed no loot was respawning - I visited probably 30+ loot spawns in different locations multiple times and each time everything was exactly the same... Kind of hard to explain, but it seems like there can be server side issues with spawns.I've noticed playing on servers that are rebooted more often the loot seems to be better (not quality) but just being able to find stuff in general and not empty or garbage.
