not spawning with a gun

I have tried killing myself multiple times but i still spawn without a gun, therefore making me defenseless. Is this a bug or do you now not spawn with a gun? because on the multiple videos i have watched of day z every body spawns with atleast a crappy pistol

AS far as i know , you dont spawn with a gun. You need to sneak around town and not get seen and try and salvage a few things to get you started

ok, sorry if i soun like a noob, but how do i use the flashlight

No problem. You gotta start somewhere.

Right click in inventory. That will allow you to move it from weapon slot to toolbelt, and vice versa.

In-game, L toggles it on/off.

yeah they took out the makarov spawn, because you could run into a person with nice stuff and kill them for their loot, its more of an attempt to get people to work together.

try to run for a barn if you pull aggro, and either lose them in their, or find a gun and shoot your way out.
